It is that time of year for the annual Buddy Walk in middle Tennessee to raise awareness for Down syndrome. This will be the 19th year that residents join together to celebrate all of those with that little something extra and the achievements of yet another successful year.

On Saturday October 29th, citizens can watch some amazing entertainment, have some delicious food and loads of fun at Centennial Park in Nashville! This is the third year that team Light Up The Darkness has had the privilege to participate in the Buddy Walk and raise funds for an organization that is near and dear to our hearts.

The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee (DSAMT) does so many things to bring our community together and support not only those born with Down syndrome but the families that love them. The Down Syndrome Association relies on donations like yours to keep them alive and growing, as babies are born and people continuously move into our community. Not only is this the premier advocacy event for Down syndrome in Middle Tennessee it is also the primary fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Association.

The funds raised allows them to accomplish their mission of enhancing the lives of those with Down syndrome throughout their lifespan. The Nashville Buddy Walk supports all of the education, advocacy and support programs offered by the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee including new parent orientations, prom, music classes, caregiver workshops, summer camps, reading club, support groups and many others.
