Have you seen a lot of sand at the Murfreesboro Barfield Park in recent days? There is a reason for that. The park recently held their annual Beach Day and children from all over the county had a blast making sandcastles, building sand mounds, burying each other in the sand and more.

Over 60 tons of sand is used to create a beach at Barfield Park for Barfield Beach Party. There was music, dancing, games, sand castle building contest and much more.

Each year at the end of the annual, Murfreesboro Parks & Rec. maintenance crews use the sand throughout the park system.

These are a few photos from the Beach Party event taken by our friend Jim Davis with the Murfreesboro Parks and Rec Department.
