Residents who live in the City Limits of Murfreesboro have until 10:00, Friday evening to shoot off their last firework of the season. That information according to the ordinances set by the Murfreesboro City Council several years ago. In the meantime, it is important to keep in mind that some fireworks are not allowed in the city. Reloadable fireworks are a no-no in the city limits. However, if you live in the county you are given the “ALL CLEAR” to fire mortar type reloadable fireworks.

 

Fire Marshal Ken Honeycutt would like to remind the citizens of Murfreesboro that fireworks may only be used within the city limits between June 28 and July 5 between the hours of 10:00 am and 10:00 pm only; except that on the Fourth of July, fireworks may be used until 11:00 pm. Honeycutt also mentions that “It is unlawful for any person to use any item of fireworks on private property without the consent of the property owner or for any person to use any item of fireworks on public property including public streets.”
