The groundbreaking ceremony for the new MTCS Tennis Facility was held on Monday

Middle Tennessee Christian School held a ground breaking ceremony for a new tennis complex on Monday, September 29.

The state-of-the-art tennis facility will feature six lighted courts with a championship center court, as well as, a combination field house and concession stand. The complex will also feature plenty of spectator seating and parking.

"This tennis complex will allow us to continue to grow a quality tennis program", said Varsity Tennis Coach Lawrence Goodwyn. "It is exciting to be able to offer top level facilities to our students and the community."

For the past 5 years MTCS has qualified either a singles or doubles player for the TSSAA state tournament. The MTCS tennis team has been named district and regional champs. In 2013, Kip Kahler and Mark Caiborne won the state doubles championship. In 2014, Sarah Brackin and Chandler Adams were state semi finalists in doubles and Will Reeves and Thomas Goodwyn were state semi finalists in doubles.

Middle Tennessee Christian School is an independent school serving close to 700 students from Rutherford and surrounding counties in pre-school through the twelfth grade. Chartered in 1960, the school opened in the fall of 1962. MTCS is accredited by AdvancEd, the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and the National Christian School Association.
