Police officers are changing their uniform color Friday when they go pink. On Friday, October 17, La Vergne Police Department personnel are wearing pink "Cops for a Cure" t-shirts and pink "Fight Breast Cancer" wristbands.

"We want to show our support for the members of our families, friends, neighbors, and even our co-workers who are fighting this disease," said Chief Mike Walker. "We are honoring the memory of those who fought and have lost their battle, and we want to encourage those who may have to fight this battle in the future."
