The Promise of $3,000 Lured One Man Into Paying Thief $300 in Murfreesboro

A 21-year old Murfreesboro man was deceived on FaceBook and promised $3,000 in return for him sending the culprit $300. The victim told police he was contacted via FaceBook by an unknown person who told him if he purchased a $300 “My Vanilla Pre-Paid Card” and forwarded them the account number, they would send him $3,000. The scam did not turn out as the victim had anticipated it to and he is now out $300.

No word on ANY pending arrest at this point. In fact, no word on any suspects.
