Three Detained After Allegedly Kicking Door Down and Attacking Resident

Police in Murfreesboro were called to 721 North Maple Street early Thursday morning in reference to a disturbance. When the call came in to 9-1-1, the caller told dispatch that people were banging on his door. By the time officers arrived, the door had been knocked down and three subjects entered the small apartment unit.

MPD Sgt. Allen Cox quickly drew his weapon and held three individuals at gunpoint until back up responded to the multi family home.

The victim told police that the three subjects broke down his door and assaulted him. In doing so, they stole his EBT card and payroll card. The three suspects were placed in handcuffs and then taken to the police department for questioning while the 52 year old victim was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As for the stolen EBT and payroll cards, they were found and returned to the victim.

Three individuals have been detained and the case remains under investigation.
