Deputy Chief Roger Toombs announced this week the addition of three members to Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s award-winning Honor Guard.

After an intense interview process and two months of trial practices, Firefighters Chad Davis, Joshua Parsons, and Andy Smithson received letters notifying them of their acceptance to the team.

The MFRD Honor Guard presents colors at several esteemed events throughout the year, and is also very active in honoring fallen firefighters all over the state of Tennessee.

The mission of MFRD’s Honor Guard is “serving, honoring, and displaying the Colors for the community and department with professionalism, pride, and integrity with respect to the past and present department members, families, and fallen firefighters.”

“We are delighted to have these three on board and look forward to them participating in events in the near future,” said Shift Commander Dale Maynard, who serves as the department’s liaison for the Honor Guard. “I think they will do an excellent job and reflect well upon the department.”
