With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, retailers like Wal-Mart are extra busy. For that reason, Murfreesboro Police were quick to respond to a complaint against three men outside the Old Fort Parkway location.

Around 9:30 Thursday night, Officer Corey Smelser was called to the retailer in reference to a public intoxication complaint. There, 24-year old Austin Hutsenpiller of Smyrna told the officer he was looking for his vehicle. He then admitted to using drugs earlier in the day.

Christopher Gambill, age 25 of Manchester, and 23-year old Mitch Calligan of North Carolina, came up on the scene. Officer Smelser reports all three had slurred speech, glassy eyes and appeared to be lethargic.

The officer reports he determined they were a danger to the public and all were arrested for public intoxication. They'll answer to the charges in General Sessions Court on February 22nd.
