(MUERFREESBORO) A Thursday (12/26/2019) night fire on I-24 between Almaville Road and I-840 (mile-marker 73) forced eastbound motorists (going toward Chattanooga) to pull to the roadside.

Not only was the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, there were explosions as firefighters from Rutherford County Fire Rescue and Almaville Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene.

Reports show that the fire was extinguished quickly and that no reported injuries were reported.

WGNS also thanks emergency responders from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, T-DOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation), and Rutherford County Sheriffs Office for keeping the community safe.
