We have more news on the 4th district congressional race currently held by Dr. Scott DesJarlais. Republican 4th district candidate Jim Tracy told WGNS he urged congress to defund Obamacare on Wednesday on the heels of Congress’s August recess. The current spending authority for the federal government to operate expires September 30th.

“Before the U.S. House adjourns for its August recess, it should pass a new spending authority that bans any further expenditure for the expansion of Medicaid or the implementation of Obamacare,” said Tracy.

The President has acknowledged that Obamacare is already not working with his decision to delay its mandate on businesses and the Democratic Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee has called Obamacare’s implementation a "train wreck."

“As conservatives, we know Obamacare will never work and it threatens our freedom. By passing a funding measure now to continue functions of the government EXCEPT Obamacare for the rest of the year, Republicans in the U.S.House can draw a two-month national spotlight on Obamacare's flaws,” said Tracy. “Democrats would then be forced to either abandon their irrational support for Obamacare or be on the hook for shutting down the government. This is a debate that will be good for the country."
