Following Governor Haslam's final State of the State address, Mary Mancini, Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party released the following statement:
"When Tennessee families hear Gov. Haslam giving the State of the State address, most of them don't know what state he is talking about. The real state of the state is that too many families can barely keep food on the table and a roof over their head. Too many communities don't have an emergency room to turn to when a child gets hurt. Too many Tennesseans have lost a loved one to addiction. Democrats stand willing to work with the Governor to address these problems, starting with the single most important thing we could do, expand Medicaid. Unfortunately, the Republican party is now dominated by the loudest, most extreme voices and are unwilling to put politics aside and do the work they were sent to do."
