TONIGHT in MURFREESBORO: Fireworks, Family Fun and Swimming on July 4th

Fireworks and Swimming in Murfreesboro on July 4th:

SWIMMING: On July 4th in Murfreesboro - head to Boro Beach. Sports*Com's outdoor pool, will be open from 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. for the July 4th 'Rock the Pool Party.'

PARTY: The City of Murfreesboro's "Celebration Under the Stars" will be held at McKnight Park on July 4. The day's activities begin at the outdoor pool at Sports*Com at 10 a.m. with a pool party, games and prizes until 4:30p.m. The evening activities in McKnight Park begin at 3:30p.m. with a live band, "Audio Saints" and admission to the family-oriented events will be free of charge.

FAMILY FUN: From 5-8 p.m., there will be family activities, as well as inflatables. At 8 p.m., the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra Choir, conducted by Dr. Laurence Harvin, will present a program of traditional patriotic tunes and inspirational classics.

FIREWORKS: Greg Lawson will conduct the Murfreesboro Symphony performance during the fireworks display. The fireworks display by Pyro Shows will light up the sky at 9 p.m.

CLOSED: In observance of Independence Day, the Murfreesboro City Hall and most other City offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, 2017. St. Clair Street Senior Center is closed. Rover, the City's public transportation system, will not run on Independence Day.

The Solid Waste Department will be closed Tuesday, July 4. There will be no garbage pick-up on Independence Day. Tuesday's garbage pick-up will be Wednesday, July 5. Thursday and Friday garbage pick-up will operate as normal.

City Hall business will resume regular hours of operation, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, July 5.
