Toot's diners can provide Christmas for less fortunate children by donating to the Shop with the Sheriff's Office during a fund-raiser this coming Tuesday (12/6/2016) at Toot's on Broad Street and Toot's South.

Event coordinator, Rutherford County Sheriff's Sergeant Jimmy Cassidy, said, "The Sheriff's Office hopes to raise funds to take about 32 children Christmas shopping on Saturday (12/10/2016) at Target".

"For most children, this will be their only Christmas," Sgt. Cassidy said. "It is fantastic to see these kids run through the store. It's a great touching moment when they shop for their siblings and their parents."

School Resource Officers and Sheriff's Citizens Academy Alumni Association members will ask Toot's diners to contribute from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Toot's at 860 Northwest Broad St. and Toot's South at 2992 S. Church St.

Toot's President/Owner Wade Hays noted, "The Toot's staff enjoys helping. Our mission is, and always has been, to help needy children."

Cassidy said the children are chosen through the Rutherford County School system.

Funds collected at Toot's this coming Tuesday will be used by the children to shop for their own presents next Saturay (12/10/2016). They will be accompanied by Sheriff's deputies, SROs and alumni.

"We thank everyone who donates to make Christmas special for these grateful children," Cassidy said.
