City Construction Projects
Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp. On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase. The intersection of NW Broad St and Memorial Blvd will be closed to set overhead beams across NW Broad St starting 10:00 pm Friday, July 28 through 5:00 am Monday, July 3. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.
Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Bell St will be closed between Crestland Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.
Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)
Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - July 30, 2017: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. The intersection of Church St and Burton Street will be closed Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm and will be re-openedThursday morning at 6:00 am. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work. N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Front St will be closed to through traffic until end of July, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Maple St Alley Improvement Project (between W Main St and W Vine St)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The Maple St Alley will be closed to through traffic between W Main St and W Vine St for construction work. Deliveries to local businesses will be from Walnut St, W Vine St and Public Square. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Roadway Improvement Project (Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stover Glen)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be making roadway improvements on Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stovers Glen. Work continues. Appropriate detours and traffic controls will be in place.
TDOT Roadway Improvements and Signalization Project (Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for TDOT will be making roadway and signalization improvements on Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd. There will be minor lane traffic shifts and traffic interruptions on Manchester Pike. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Utility Installation and Turn Lane Improvement Project (Gresham Ln between High Meadow Dr and Braxton Bragg Dr)
Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for a private development will be installing utilities and making roadway improvements on Gresham Ln between High Meadow Dr and Braxton Bragg Dr. Traffic on Gresham Ln will be detoured onto Braxton Bragg Dr, Deerfield Dr and John Rice Blvd. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Asplundh Tree Trimming Work
- New Salem Hwy between Riverrock Blvd to Warrior Dr
- Riverrock Blvd between Bradyville Pike and SE Broad St
Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm: Contractor for Murfreesboro Electrical Department will be trimming tree limbs along New Salem Hwy between Riverrock Blvd and Warrior Dr., and Riverrock Blvd between Bradyville Pike and SE Broad St. Traffic will be reduced to a moving one lane moving operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Annual City Street Paving Project
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM: City casting contractor will be adjusting casting at the following street:
- Satinwood Dr between Thompson Ln and Tanglefoot Ct.
- Riverview between start of curb & gutter section and Royal Dr
- Royal Dr between Thompson Ln and Montclair Ave
