On Wednesday morning (9/17/2014) Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department units extricated one victim from a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Clark and Jones.

District 4, Rescue 7, and Engine 1 were called to the scene around 6:40 am. It was extra quick response, since the crash was in front of the fire station.

Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services transported one patient to the ER at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Extent of injuries are unknown at this time.

According to Shift Commander Dale Maynard, traffic on Jones and Clark in all directions has been ceased at this time and is expected to last for up to another hour. This is especially troublesome, since this is the location of both Mitchell-Neilson Primary and Elementary Schools. Parents need to expect that it will take additional time to take their children to those schools this morning.
