Tourism is growing locally, and with holiday events at area hotels, the university and historic sites, tourists will be increasing in numbers during Christmas and New Years. The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce is offering a training session for those who come in contact with tourists.

Chamber's Cultural and Heritage Tourism Director Dr. Ginna Foster Cannon explained, "We cast a wide net because it's important that everyone who touches a tourist is friendly, informed and professional. This session will be valuable for everyone-management and front line staff."

The morning class is filled, but there are still a few spaces remaining in the 5:00-6:30PM class on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Chamber of Commerce, 3050 Medical Center Parkway.

Dr. Cannon noted that there is no charge for the class, it is free. They simply want to make certain front-line employees and management are trained to serve tourists and encourage them to return to our community.
