(MURFREESBORO) It was a brisk Halloween as trick or treaters strolled around the historic Murfreesboro square. Area offices and merchants had an ample supply of treats for this event that has become a downtown tradition.

Temps were in the 40s as the afternoon began, but fell into the upper 30s as the sun went down and tricksters roamed the 'Boro streets.

Again, the area around East Main Street continued to attract the most costume clad kidos, with some homes reporting over a thousand creative outfits.

Area churches, law enforcement agencies and several non-profits held both trick or treat as well as trunk and treat events.

All in all, it was a fun evening for area youth.
