Three people were arrested on various drug related charges after Murfreesboro Police responded to a shoplifting call at the Wal-Mart on Memorial. When authorities arrived, they were told a suspect jumped into a white Nissan Xterra.
Officer Christopher Hobbs spotted the vehicle at the Kroger on Memorial and pulled them over. That's when a person, later identified as Jason Skaroupka got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. He was captured after a brief chase and the stolen property recovered from his pocket.
Inside the SUV was Joey Howell and Mika Julian. A search of the vehicle turned up several Wal-Mart bags containing pseudo-ephedrine and lithium batteries along with various drug paraphernalia.
Julian told police they were paid 100-dollars each to purchase boxes of pseudo-ephedrine and that they had knowledge it was going to be used to produce methamphetamine.
Skaroupka faces charges of possession of a schedule four drug, drug paraphernalia and evading. A warrant for his arrest in Smithville was also discovered during booking.
Julian and Howell both face a charge of promotion of meth.
