Triple Fatal Crash in Cannon Co. Claims Lives of Locals

Two Murfreesboro residents were among the three killed in a fatal crash in Cannon County.

Authorities at the Cannon County Sheriff's Department report the crash happened on Highway 96 at Cooper Hollow Road in Auburntown on Sunday around 4:15am.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports a car, which was driven by 35-year old Joshua Harris of Murfreesboro, was traveling east on the highway when crossing the center line, colliding head-on with the car driven by 25-year old Taylor Burrow of Murfreesboro.

Both Harris and Burrow were killed, along with 26-year old Dakota Franks of Savannah, who was a passenger in Burrow's car.

According to the THP report, alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

The medical examiner has been asked to conduct tests. A section of Highway 96 was closed for more than three hours while troopers investigated the scene.
