Former MTCS assistant volleyball coach, Troy Berry, has been named the high school head volleyball coach. Berry replaces Mollie Beasley who resigned her position in March. Athletic Director Jason Piercey made the announcement Tuesday.

Troy Berry has been an assistant volleyball coach at MTCS for three years and helped lead the team to three straight region tournament appearances. Under Berry's assistance the team finished last season with a school record 30 victories. He also worked for two seasons as a volleyball coach for the Mid TN Volleyball Club. Berry is a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro. He graduated from Oakland High School before continuing his education at Middle Tennessee State University where he obtained a degree in Electronic Media Communication Journalism from the College of Mass Communication and Honors College in 2012. He has served as the public address announcer for the MTSU Women's Volleyball team for the past 5 seasons and the MTSU Baseball team for the last two years. Berry is an active member of the Salem Creek Church of Christ where he has participated on multiple mission trips to Jamaica and Nicaragua.
