Popular WGNS' radio personality and former long-time sheriff Truman Jones is at St. Thomas West in Nashville.

Truman said, "I was doing the radio show at Sylvan Park Restaurant on Tuesday (12/19/2017), when I must not have looked the best. Kelly kept coming over and asking if I was OK--she's always so helpful. She brought me water and got me to sit down."

He commented, "By the time I got home, I was really tired and decided to call my close friend Dr. Dan Rudd. It didn't take long for him to recommend that I go to the ER for tests to get a pacemaker."

Later WGNS spoke with Rutheford County Historian Greg Tucker who noted, "A close family member received a pacemaker several years ago, and it made an almost instantaneous change in their life. The blood was able to flow to all parts of their body and they suddenly had more energy than ever before."

WGNS notes that The Truman Show will feature "the best of" for the remainder of this week and next. Truman will be back at the Sylvan Park Restaurant on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Lisa Greer and her mother co-own that popular local family restaurant. She explained that Sylvan Park Restaurant would be closed for renovation the week after Christmas.

Greer said, "There are some repairs tied to when the car went through the side of our building on November 9th that must be completed without customers in the building. We're going to be closed the entire week after Christmas. We will re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 and Mr. Truman will be there for the celebration. Hopefully all of his friends will be there to welcome him back."

For newcomers to the area, Truman Jones served with the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office for decades, and in fact, he was this county's sheriff for 27-years.
