A 31-year old Twin Oaks Drive man is facing several drug and handgun related charges after a traffic stop by Murfreesboro Police.

Officer Westley Hall reports pulling over Marcus Robertson around 8:20pm Monday near Greenland Drive and North Rutherford Boulevard for failing to signal while turning.

The officer reports smelling marijuana from inside the vehicle. A search turned up a small amount of marijuana, one-point-four grams of cocaine along with a loaded Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun with eight bullets in the magazine.

Due to past felony convictions and because he was allegedly in possession of a loaded handgun, Robertson was arrested. In addition to the drug related charges, he also faces charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a handgun with a prior domestic violence conviction.

He will answer to the charges January 25th.
