Two Arrested for Kidnapping and Assault in La Vergne

A man and a woman are facing serious charges following their arrests Friday by the Criminal Investigation Division of the La Vergne Police Department.

On Thursday at approximately 4:00 p.m., three individuals got into an argument at the Driftwood Inn, 107 Enterprise Blvd. The argument escalated into a physical altercation. The victim was stabbed and beaten, then taken across state lines in his truck by two suspects. He was dropped by the side of a road in a subdivision in Catoosa County, Georgia where he knocked on a door for help around 10:30 that evening.

The 20-year old male was in serious condition and was treated for his injuries at nearby Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. He has since been released and is now recovering at home.

Jonathan Russell, age 21, and Holly Summers, age 31, were arrested today and have been charged with five felonies and two misdemeanors. The felony charges include: Especially Aggravated Robbery, Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Theft over $10,000, and Criminal Conspiracy. In addition, they face two misdemeanor charges for Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and False Imprisonment.

The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.                     

Detective Kevin Stolinsky said, “I am glad the victim is recovering well and that no one else was injured in this incident.”

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
