Another serious motorcycle accident occurred on 231 South Saturday afternoon around 1:30. Not one, but two motorcycle riders who were riding next to each other crashed near the Midland Fosterville Road intersection.

43-Year old Kenny D. Taylor and 48-year old Kerry L. Whittaker were on separate Harley Davidsons heading towards Shelbyville via 231 South when an elderly man driving a Lincoln Town Car pulled into their lane. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Lincoln that was being driven by 82-year old Roy Beasley from Brentwood, was traveling at a slow rate of speed in the slower lane of travel when he merged into Taylor who was in the passing lane. The report shows that Taylor was knocked into his friend, Whittaker.

Taylor was flown in a Life Flight Helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He is now listed in critical condition (as of Saturday afternoon). Whittaker was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro. His condition was not released.

There is no mention of alcohol playing a role in the accident. The driver of the Lincoln was however cited for an improper lane change.
