Two young children who were home alone witnessed a burglar enter their Sycamore Circle residence and steal a flat screen TV, their video gaming system and a tablet computer. The incident occurred on Tuesday around 3 in the morning.

According to a police report filed with the Murfreesboro Police Department, the 33 year old mother left early for work while a caretaker sat with the kids. The babysitter claimed a family emergency came up and she had to leave, leaving the young children unattended.

A neighbor called the police when one of the two children came to her house to say that someone had just broken in. The second child was found in the house crying when police showed up.

Police called the babysitter who the mother only knew as "Kelsey." The woman told police she had to leave due to what she called a "family emergency." When police called her back a second time to gather more details, she did not answer her phone.

Police are investigating the home burglary that has been labeled as an "Aggravated Burglary" due to the fact that people were inside the Sycamore Circle home when it was broken into. As for the small children being left unattended, the Department of Children Services were called.

At this point, an arrest has not been made.
