U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) released an Independence Day statement.

"I ask Tennesseans to join me this Independence Day in honoring the brave service men and women who make sacrifices every day to protect our freedoms," said Corker. "Our nation faces extraordinary challenges, but throughout our history, generations before us have made sacrifices, and in the end, moved our country forward. I am hopeful that we can do the same, and I remain committed to working every day to leave behind a better nation for our children and grandchildren."
