Nearly 150 volunteers from the community will be gathering to complete 17 projects that benefit community organizations for United Way's Days of Action.

Participating companies include Nissan, Atmos Energy, Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Bridgestone, Ingram, Residence Inn, Middle Tennessee Electric, Amazon, Asurion, Chromalox, and Miller Loughry and Beach.

This year's Days of Action also marks the seventh annual partnership with Middle Tennessee State University's The Big Event and United Way. On April 8, students will be focusing their volunteer efforts on community gardens throughout Rutherford County.

"MTSU students participating in The Big Event want to create a lasting change this year by creating community gardens", said McKenna Moore, Director of Volunteer and Strategic Engagement for United Way. "The goal is to teach community members how to provide their own renewable, sustainable and healthy food source."

The Days of Action run Thursday, April 6, 2017 to Friday, April 7, 2016.
