It was something that you don't usually find in a field... an unused stick of dynamite was found in a lot at the corner of Franklin Road (Highway 96) and Veterans Parkway Wednesday morning. The dynamite was found by a worker with the Murfreesboro Street Department while the repair of a storm drain was taking place.

After the worker found the explosive device, he called the police department. Sgt. Roche with the MPD then contacted the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The THP arrived and disposed of the dynamite in their specialized explosive trailer.

No one was hurt and it is not exactly sure where the dynamite came from.
