According to the official police report, the victim told officers that a black male entered her garage armed with a silver handgun. The man allegedly attacked the elderly woman as she was cleaning her car windows on the car that was parked inside the garage. Evidently, the garage door was open when the man entered.

The unknown assailant first ordered the woman to perform oral sex on him. He then raped the woman both in the front and the back. Afterwards, the man took the time to clean evidence he left behind off the garage floor. The victim said that the man cleaned the floor with water and vinegar.

Prior to leaving, the senior citizen was robbed of her cell phone and cash that she had at her home. When the bruised and battered victim told the man that her husband works for a federal law enforcement agency, the subject took off running.

So far, the identity of the man has not been confirmed and he remains at large in Murfreesboro.

More Information:

The victim has lived at the same address for over 26 years and a crime of such magnitude has never been reported. In fact, records show the home was built in 1955 and that no such crime has ever occurred at the 1,622 square foot home.

A total of 21 sex offenders live within a 2 mile radius of the victim. If the search for nearby sex offenders were opened to a 4 mile radius of the victim, then 92 sex offenders could be found.

Statistics and this case:

Statistics show that only 13.8% of rape victims are raped by a total stranger, according to the Center for Disease Control in 2012.

In a 1997 report by the U.S. Department of Justice, two separate 3-year follow-ups of samples of felons placed on probation and of felons released from prison, "Rapists were more likely than others to be re-arrested for a new rape." The same report showed that only 1 out of every 16 rapes or sexual assaults involved a gun, which makes the Murfreesboro case stand out, especially when you add in that the victim did not know or recognize her attacker.
