An arrest has been made in the recent rash of robberies in the area of MTSU. A joint investigation by the Murfreesboro Police Department and the MTSU Police Department has led to the arrest of 18-year old Marlon K. Washington.

The arrest report that WGNS obtained on Friday stated, “The above listed subject was developed as a suspect in a recent series of armed and strong armed robberies in and around MTSU Campus. Washington was found with stolen property connected to one of the robberies.”

The report went on to suggest that a witness did provide information to the authorities that help secure the arrest.

Washington, who lives in Brownsville, Tennessee, was charged with theft of property (misdemeanor) and robbery (felony). He was booked and later bonded out of jail. Washington, who goes by the nickname of “Detroit,” is scheduled to appear before a judge on March 10, 2014.
