Three people have been arrested, accused of attacking, tying up and robbing students at Middle Tennessee State University.

Police said they arrested Quintshay Shannon, Kenterrius Turner, and Jamarces Watson who they believe forced their way into the Womack Apartments last Thursday night.

According to the arrest report, "Mr. Shannon admitted that Mr. Watson and him committed the robberies and that Mr. Turner drove the car. Mr. Turner stated that he drove the car and dropped off Mr. Shannon and Mr. Watson to commit the robberies."

Last Thursday (7/14/16) Campus police say five male students were inside their apartment when they were robbed. The suspects allegedly bound the students with tape, ordered them to remove some of their clothing and robbed them of personal items. They also assaulted some of them before fleeing from the scene, according to police. After the incident, one of the five victims had to go to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

All of the suspects are facing numerous charges and a handgun was also recovered from the scene of the crime.

Murfreesboro Police believe the suspects are linked to other robberies within the city that same night.

At approximately 11:50pm Thursday, July 14, a female student reported that she was standing near her vehicle near Womack Lane Apartments on the MTSU campus when she was approached by two males, one of which had a gun.

The suspects demanded her wallet. She told them it was in her apartment. She took them instead to a male friend's apartment. The suspects forced their way inside, where there were five males.

The suspects bound the students with tape, ordered them to remove some of their clothing, robbed them of personal items and assaulted some of them before fleeing.

Police responded and within 10 minutes located two male suspects in the area matching the description of the robbers. The two suspects were detained, questioned and later arrested. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

A third suspect was located in the area and also arrested. None of the suspects are believed to be MTSU students.

One of the student victims was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Murfreesboro Police joined the investigation and linked the suspects to other robbery incidents in the city the same night. The investigations are ongoing.
