WGNS is learning more about a bomb threat that was called into the Patterson Park Community Center on Wednesday (June 12, 2013).
According to the police report WGNS received, “An unknown female called Patterson Park and spoke to (an employee) stating that a bomb was inside the building and you need to get out.” During the brief conversation, a male grabbed the phone and stated, “Do you have a playground for my kids to play?” The phone call then ended.
As a precaution the building was searched, but nothing was found. The facility was then shut down just before 3pm on Wednesday as a safety measure. At this point, no arrests have been made.
