By now you have probably heard about auto parts supplier Calsonic North America adding 1,200 new jobs at three facilities in Tennessee. But, did you realize that some of those jobs will be directed towards Smyrna, Tennessee where the company already employs 560-workers? The new jobs represent a $109-million investment in Middle Tennessee.
Gov. Haslam announced this week that the Nissan subsidiary is adding the positions to plants in Shelbyville, Lewisburg and Smyrna. Calsonic Kansei’s products include automotive climate control, electronics, cooling and exhaust systems.
In addition to hourly positions opening up in the future in Smyrna, Shelbyville and Lewisburg, the Smyrna plant is aiming to hire a quality supervisor right now, according to their website. That position is responsible for controlling, correcting, and ensuring an acceptable quality level product is produced at the assigned plant.
