We have an update on a fatal accident that occurred this past Friday in nearby Bedford County. The Shelbyville Times Gazette reports that one man was killed and two people -- including an infant -- were injured in the head-on collision on the Lewisburg Highway (Highway 64).

Jon Frasier, 25, of Shelbyville was killed, according to a preliminary report by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Sanders. Kenzlie Frasier, a 1-year-old in the car, was injured and airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Frasier was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on Highway 64 and crossed into the eastbound lane, striking the other vehicle head-on, the report states. The other vehicle, a Ford F-150 pickup, was driven by Randy Brown, 45, of Lewisburg, the report states. The pickup went down a slight embankment.

The report does not state why the Grand Prix traveled into the wrong lane. Brown was airlifted by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. An update on his condition has not been released this week.

The Gazette reports that both men were wearing their seat belts. It is not known if speed was a factor.
