UPDATE: More news on the murder of Gregg Hawkins (With interview)

A fisherman who interrupted a crime in progress died after being shot on October 16, 2015. The death of 53-year old Gregg Hawkins occurred at the Mona Boat Ramp off of Jefferson Pike in Rutherford County.

Hawkins was shot and killed after going fishing with his 19-year old daughter. Hawkins was at his truck and about to back it down the boat ramp to load the boat that his daughter was sitting in when he was shot.

Rutherford County Sheriff's Detective Dan Goodwin told News Radio WGNS that people have been interviewed, but no arrests have been made...

Goodwin asks that if you know anyone who you think burglarizes vehicles in the area of local boat ramps, call the Sheriff's Office...
