UPDATE: Murfreesboro Electric Continues to Warn About Scam

A man accused of trying to collect money over the phone from Murfreesboro Electric Customers has yet to be caught. The culprit allegedly told one customer that he owed over $490. The customer called the police and told officers the subject claimed to be “Kevin Rogers.” Amy Byers with Murfreesboro Electric said they don’t collect money over the phone.

Byers told us that this is the second of two recent scams. Another scam targets Hispanic customers. In both cases, no one has been caught.
