UPDATE: Nissan Assembly Worker LifeFlighted To Vanderbilt, later dies

It's been confirmed that a worker in the assembly plant at Nissan in Smyrna was injured Wednesday morning. He was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he later passed away.

Nissan confirmed in a release to the media:

"We can confirm that a Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant employee was involved in an incident yesterday (Wednesday) and transported to the hospital where he passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the employee's family during this difficult time."

Reports indicate that Nissan has notified his family, but additional information has not been released.
