A 62-year old man who was said to be bragging about how he killed two men of Hispanic descent was questioned by Murfreesboro Police on Monday. The incident occurred at the Rover Bus hub located at 220 West Burton Street.

A rider of the public bus told police the wheelchair bound suspect displayed a knife and according to the witness, suggested that he stabbed two Mexican natives. Officers did not press any charges against the man who told police he lives at the Select Inn in Murfreesboro.

As far as the complainant goes, he was transported to the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro. He reported that he was in fear because of several health issues and a “bump” against the suspect could literally kill him.

WGNS later learned that suspect Charles David Long who was accused of boasting about killing two Hispanic men, was arrested for an unrelated incident several hours later. Long allegedly used his knife to take a swing at a man eating a meal with his significant other at a local restaurant.

Long was charged with aggravated assault, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and retaliation. He was taken into custody several hours after the incident at the Rover Bus Hub was reported. He is now behind bars at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro.
