Problems surrounding Sheriff Robert Arnold continue. WGNS was told that two Sheriff's Deputy cars were at his home on Monday evening in what appeared to be an emergency situation.

Arnold's home is in the city limits of Murfreesboro so we first spoke to Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans. Sgt. Evans confirmed that the MPD was NOT called to Arnold's house nor have they had any calls from his address.

Evidently, the two patrol cars were from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

UPDATE: Josh DeVine with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation told NewsRadio WGNS on Thursday (9/8/16), "At the request of 16th District Attorney General Jennings Jones, TBI Special Agents are investigating the circumstances surrounding the report of and the response to a domestic complaint at the home of Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold earlier this week."

UPDATE - From the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office on Thursday Afternoon:

Lisa Marchesoni, the Public information officer for the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, told WGNS, "In response to media requests, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office has not found any dispatch records, radio records, phone records or incident reports associated with any alleged event at Sheriff Robert Arnold's home Monday."

As for Sheriff Arnold, the Sheriff's Office sent out the following statement, "Due to an ongoing active inquiry by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Sheriff Arnold said he would not be able make a statement at this time."

The alleged incident unfolded on Monday and then on Wednesday, Sheriff Arnold reported to the federal courts in Nashville for an evaluation of his pre-trial release. That so called release allows Arnold to remain free instead of being held behind bars until his February court date in 2017.

UPDATE - Statement from the Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini:

Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini released the following statement regarding Rutherford County Republican Sheriff Robert Arnold.

"Tennessee Republican corruption goes all the way to the core. Rutherford County Republican Sheriff Robert Arnold, the same man the Tennessee Republicans Party was promoting as a rising star just a short time ago, has already been charged with multiple offenses, including fraud, bribery, extortion and tampering with a witness. Now he is being investigated by the TBI after a report of a domestic complaint at his residence.

From Washington, D.C. to Murfreesboro, Tennessee Republicans' corruption goes from the top all the way to their roots. From Sen. Corker's insider trading scandal to Governor Haslam awarding no-bid contracts to his friends and now Sheriff Arnold's recent actions, it's clear Tennessee Republicans have no respect for the power they have in Tennessee. Tennesseans are tired of Republican corruption at every level of government and they will show their dissatisfaction at the ballot box next month."
