J.D. Jones, Rodney O'Neal and Marcus Robinson were suspended from MTSU football team after arrests.

MTSU Football Coach Rick Stockstill has dismissed three football players who were arrested. Raiders Defensive tackles J.D. Jones and Marcus Robinson along with cornerback Rodney O'Neal were arrested one week ago on various charges.

Jones is charged with two counts of domestic aggravated assault for allegedly choking a female. Robinson and O'Neal are charged with aiding and abetting for allegedly videotaping the incident.

Coach Rick Stockstill stated, “I have decided to dismiss J.D. Jones, Rodney O’Neal, and Marcus Robinson from our football program. I took my time in making this decision, as I wanted to make sure I gathered as much information as possible.

All three men, 20-year old MTSU sophomores, were booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and later released.  One of the three men allegedly choked a girlfriend while demanding money for marijuana. The other two men reportedly videotaped the incident.

Coach Stockstill futher commented, “Their actions do not reflect upon all the good surrounding our football program. Every choice a person makes has consequences, good or bad. And unfortunately, their choice has led me to dismiss them from the team.”
