UPDATE: Tuesday afternoon crash I-24 in Murfreesboro results in charges against driver

A crash on Interstate 24 Tuesday (12/27/16) afternoon resulted in one man being charged with "Vehicular Assault, DUI, Felony Reckless Endangerment, Simple Possession of a Schedule II drug and Driving on a Suspended License."

33 Year old James Matt Taylor was driving his Ford Explorer on I-24 when he lost control near the Medical Center Parkway exit and collided with a guardrail. Taylor's SUV then overturned striking the concrete barrier on 24 where it eventually came to rest in the westbound lane.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the accident and reported they found the presence of drugs with Taylor who was injured in the wreck. Taylor was charged with "Vehicular Assault, DUI, Felony Reckless Endangerment, Simple Possession of a Schedule II drug and Driving on a Suspended License.".

Passenger Ryan King was seriously injured in the crash. Unlike Taylor, King was not wearing a safety belt. Despite the injuries, State Troopers say that charges are pending against King.
