Murfreesboro Police are continuing their investigation into a shooting that occurred this past Saturday night at University Ridge Apartments. The victim told authorities he was shot when he answered a knock at his apartment door.

According to the report WGNS obtained on Tuesday, the victim claims he heard a knock at the door and when he peered through the peep hole, he did not see anyone. The victim then opened the door and was met by a black male holding a gun on him. The victim attempted to push the door shut, but the suspect pushed to hold the door open. The victim called for his friends in the same apartment to help push the armed man out and eventually, all three got the door to close.
