“We are so glad to be a part of this year’s event,” said Angela Lacy, Stones River Total Beverages Manager.  “When my daughter was born, I began thinking about how important early detection is for women and how necessary it is for women to maintain breast health. The Power of Pink is making that possible for women who don't have easy access to mammograms through the Saint Thomas Rutherford Center for Breast Health and the “Our Mission in Motion” mobile mammography unit. We at Stones River Total Beverages are so happy to be able to help support the cause!”

VIP Party

In addition to regularly priced tickets to the Wine Around the Square Event ($75 each at winearoundthesquare.org) event organizers are also staging a VIP Party at Maple Street Grill.  Tickets to the VIP Party are also available at winearoundthesquare.org at $250 each.

Co-Chairs for the VIP Party are Deb Thompson with State Farm and Roy Snipes with Vaisala, Inc.  The VIP Party begins at 5:30 p.m., and guests may come and go unti 9 p.m., enjoying the full bar.  VIP Party guests can check in beginning at 5:15 p.m.; please be sure to bring your emailed and printed ticket and valid driver’s license;  both must be shown for entrance.

The VIP Party will offer an additional 12 wines and appetizers, including Mer Oliel Silver Chardonnay, Conundrum Red Wine, Mummm Cuvee M and Moet Brut.

Lacy describes Mer Soliel Silver Chardonnay as “an unoaked chardonnay, which means it is aged in concrete or stainless-steel barrels, so you taste more of the grapes, nectarine and peach fruit and less oak.”

She describes the Conundrum Red wine as “slight sweet, rich and velvety.  It is approachable to someone who does not typically drink red wine and an excellent progression from white to red,” she said.

Lacy added “the two VIP bubbles, Mumm Cuvee M and Moet Brut with their pink color were specifically chosen for the Power of Pink event.”

In addition, local resident Ted LaRoche will be on hand to pour some of his favorite wines.  Ted is a partner in the vineyard that produces Lola wines and is excited to share these selections with his friends and neighbors.

Sweet bites will be served along with many savory items. Granny’s Gourmet owner Halley Neal will serve the VIP guests an assortment of tortes, squares and cookies, including chess pie, bourbon pecan pie and raspberry almond squares, all prepared fresh ingredients and juices.

VIP Party in-kind donors include Lori Sain Smith; The Peddler Gifts & Interiors, Stones River Total Beverages, Lipman Brothers, Horizon, Ted LaRoche, Stewart’s Special Events; Karen Ford with Goodness Gracious, Mike and Debbie Zelenak with Maple Street Grill and Halley Neal with Granny’s Gourmet.
