UPDATE: Wilson County Murder Suspect of another teen Asks for New Jail Facility

In nearby Wilson County, a subject charged in the fatal shooting of another juvenile wants to be housed in a different facility due to bullying.

15 Year old Ethen Kain Vanderpool reported to the courts that he is suffering from verbal abuse after being jailed for allegedly shooting 16 year old JayShawn Taylor, a Mt. Juliet High School student.

After the November 2018 shooting death of Taylor, Vanderpool was charged as an adult with Criminal Homicide. The shooting took place on NW Clearview Drive in Wilson County.

The student who was killed was honored at a Mt. Juliet football game against Rutherford County's Oakland High School this past year.

Vanderpool, who has not yet been convicted, will be back in a Wilson County courtroom on July 23, 2019.
