Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) invites the public to help celebrate the National Salute to Veteran Patients during the week February 11-15, 2019 through volunteerism.

"The National Salute to Veteran Patients week is not only a time to honor our Veteran patients but also a time for our community partners to visit our facilities," said TVHS Voluntary Service Chief Tom Gallagher. "We're excited for the public to see the great care our Veteran patients receive and to tell them about the volunteer opportunities available within the Tennessee Valley Healthcare system," he said.

Gallagher said TVHS is always looking for volunteers who are friendly, courteous, and have good customer service skills to help Veterans navigate the campus and provide an outstanding VA experience.

During this special week several events are scheduled throughout TVHS to honor our Veteran patients and to provide opportunities for our community to show the Veterans their service and sacrifice is not forgotten.

Anyone who wants to volunteer at a TVHS facility during the National Salute or any time of year can contact TVHS Voluntary Service at (615) 873-6978.

TVHS is an integrated tertiary health care system comprised of two hospitals, the Alvin C.
