VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) mental health officials will host the seventh annual Community Mental Health/Homeless Summit from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 14 at the Smyrna Event Center, 100 Sam Ridley Parkway.

The aim of the annual Community Mental Health/Homeless Summit is to bring together key community stakeholders with the goal of enhancing access to mental health services and addressing the mental health needs of Veterans and their family members in Middle Tennessee.

"None of us can do this alone," said Dr. John Jackson, TVHS Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health. "We can make a much bigger impact when we work as a team. This summit allows us to meet with our community partners to share ideas."

The theme of this year's event is Breaking Down Barriers in Access to Mental Health Care to Heal Trauma for Veterans and Families. The event is free and open to all.
