Virgil Gammon "Fired" from RuCo Sheriff's Office

Rutherford County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Virgil Gammon has been fired. Gammon first mentioned his termination on Facebook around 10:45 Friday morning. He was third in command at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, serving 38-years with the department.

Gammon, on his Facebook page, stated:

"To all my Facebook friends, this is notice that I no longer work for the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. I was just told by Sheriff Robert Arnold that my services are no longer needed. 38 years of service. Fired."


Rutherford County Sheriff's spokeswoman Lisa Marchesoni says "Sheriff Robert Arnold told Deputy Chief Virgil Gammon Friday that his services are no longer needed at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Arnold will not make any further comment at this time."
