A 10-year-old boy reported a man tried to grab him after feeding his dogs about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday in the Southridge subdivision off Veterans Parkway, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputy said.

The boy was heading back into his home on Player Drive when a thin, white man wearing a red jacket jumped from behind his mother’s vehicle, Deputy Jason Brown reported.

“He stated the man tried to grab him and he pulled away, kicking the man in the leg,” Deputy Brown reported.

The boy ran into the garage and locked the door. He did not watch the man leave. No suspect was located.
