An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and detectives with the McMinnville Police Department has resulted in the indictment of a McMinnville woman, charged with stealing from her former employer.

At the request of 31st District Attorney General Lisa Zavogiannis, on December 19, 2014, TBI Special Agents joined McMinnville Police in investigating a report of an embezzlement scheme at NurseOne, Ray Investments LLC, a McMinnville business that outsources nursing staff. Veola Sutherland was employed by NurseOne from July 2010 through October 2013 as the Director of Finance. Agents developed information that after Sutherland left the business, various discrepancies were found relating to compensation reports and employee information. The investigation revealed that bank statements from January 2012 through October 2013 indicated Sutherland falsified employee accounts and deposited the checks into her own personal savings and checking accounts.
